About me
I grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico after immigrating from Chihuahua, Mexico at 4 years old. I am a proud immigrant and former DACA recipient and was the first undocumented student to be accepted to the PhD program in the Department of Political Science at UCLA.
My research looks towards local politics given federal inaction on comprehensive immigration reform.
My teaching and research interests are in race, ethnicity and immigrant substantive and descriptive representation with a special interest in urban and local politics.
